A little about me,
I’m Ashly Brooks
Nutrition Intern – Supervised
Ashly Brooks lives in Baltimore with her husband, daughter and soon a second tiny human will be joining the family. Ashly enjoys good food, delicious desserts, karaoke and game night.
In 2013, Ashly graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a degree in Biology. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s in Nutrition and Integrative Health from Maryland University of Integrative Health. She is now a clinical nutrition intern (supervised) with a passion for changing the narrative that menstrual discomfort and pain are normal. Ashly’s goal is to partner with her clients to understand their body’s signs and symptoms to improve their menstrual journey.
Ashly spent her early years suffering from severe symptoms during her menstrual cycle that disrupted school and later work days. She scheduled an appointment with her OB/GYN who prescribed Toradol, a medication meant for moderate to severe pain and usually given to patients following surgery. Relief was quick! Unfortunately, it was not meant for long term use. One day she discovered that a few diet changes and yoga offered relief. She decided to explore some lifestyle changes that resolved her symptoms. What she found is that the answer for her was not the answer for everyone. This exploration is the journey she wants to join her clients on to find THEIR answer!
